Purpose of Blogging

Blogs are made for a reason. Different writers have different purposes of why they have made a blog. Three examples would be. One to give out Information to the readers, one made to Entertain, and some made to Persuade the readers:

Inform:
When a blog is made to inform the reader of different topics, or whatever the reader is interested in. Redstate talks about current events in politics. I thought it was a good blog because a lot of people want to know about recent things that have happened like, elections or about things the president has done. Bloglockers shows daily news about scores for professional sports. They have different categories for each type of sport. This blog shows old and new scores, in case someone would have missed a game. Both of these blogs gives information about their own topics.

To Persuade:
When the writer tries to convince the reader to support their idea or opinion. Gizmodo tries to convince people to buy different types of gadgets, by giving advice on what gadgets are worth your money or showing different types to choose from. They call their blog a guide. Life hacker tries to convince readers to get more apps or to download things by showing you ways to make things easier to download or talking about apps that can help you. I think both of these blog are made to persuade because they are both trying to get you to want something.

Entertainment:
When a blog is filled with interesting, or anything else that would entertain the reader. Popeater talks about what is happening in celebrities lives and what they're up to. It has articles talking about different celebrities. It was like reading a magazine and even though its not important to know what celebrities are doing, it was interesting to read. Slashfilm has reviews for different movies, and recommends movies to the readers. these two blogs are for entertainment because they are about things that people can read about, for Fun.
